THE ETHNIC TOUCH OF MISSONI
This year, Missoni brings us in Mesoamerica, specifically in Guatemala. There is a marriage between the typical patterns of the house’s fabrics, – always renewed and fresh – and the characteristic colours of this Heaven on Earth: hot and intense orange, cochineal red, jade and forest green, indigo, and coffee. As always, Missoni plays with the fantasies: striped shirts, argyle vests, shaded horizontal lines.
There are elements that are not common in the fashion we are seeing these days, such as the proposal to use coloured sashes instead of belts, to tie below the navel and let fall with long flaps.
Then again, jackets lying on the shoulders like capes, and the strictly white panama, to protect riders and travelers from the hot sun that burns the prairies.
