Spring 2020, Milan Fashion Week

Clean shapes, sharp cuts and, of course, leather in abundance for Tod’s next season’s collection. Chairman and chief executive officer Diego della Valle wants to celebrate a kind of lifetime-lasting fashion, in line with the Italian craftsmanship tradition that exalts simplicity and minimalism.
Coats, knee-lengthed dresses and skirts are made in leather, core material of the collection, treated in several sophisticated manners: submitted to perforations into floral patterns, with tie-dye treatments splashed on shirts and coats or pleated into two-colored accordion combined with silk- that adds movement and fluidity to the boxy leather structure. A white brush stroke was applied on the front of black anaconda leather coats and pencil skirts, while three-dimensional petals carved on leather surfaces tremble with the models’ movement.
The Spring 2020 collection is denoting an understated elegance, signature of the brand, inspirationally rooted in Michelangelo Antonioni’s films and the charming femininity of Monica Vitti; each piece of the lineup – accessories included- is conceived through an artisanal approach heading towards a restitution of the well-made product, flawless and impeccably made by the brand’s in-house team’s savoir faire.
