The Fall 2018 collection marks a new path

The look for a woman with a “sophisticated, big personality” takes over for the ethereal dreamy dresses for which Alberta Ferretti is known. The expert in chiffon and tulle chose new designing paths this time, more in step with what contemporary women demand from fashion right now. Women that want their personality and dress accordingly, instead of following the trends of the season. “Women today have changed, and fashion needs to speak in a different way. It shouldn’t be so correct, it should show personality.”, she explained herself backstage.

The Fall/Winter 2018 collection influences gravitate toward the 80’s fashion period, whose luxe is here interpreted in a more subtle and delicate way.

In a preponderance of big-shouldered and high-waisted outfits, overcoats are worn with boots, a gaucho hat and pleated leather trousers. Stone washed jeans are high-waisted and embellished with studs. Paillettes and shimmering sequins are a recurring topic, alongside gold and silver lamé fabrics aplenty used for trousers, evening dresses and jumpsuits.

The Ferretti’s woman is not a romantic goddess anymore, yet the queen of the night that is ready to take center stage.
