The début in Madison Avenue with the Fall 2018 collection

The old American Stock Exchange building got a new look. Bottega Veneta just celebrated the opening of its biggest boutique in the world in 740 Madison Avenue, converting it into the setting of the Fall-Winter 2018 collection‘s fashion show.

Former private XIX century townhouses became comfortable living spaces used as a showcase for Bottega Veneta’s products – as home goods, accessories, perfumes, Men’s and Women’s Ready-to-Wear collections- that is extended on four floors.

Tomas Maier draws inspiration from the many facets of New York, whose lifestyle extremes go from hyperactivity to extreme solitude.

The glassy shine of the city’s midcentury skyscrapers are reflected onto the silky constructed outfits, while the cube taken from the city’s architecture is translated into checkered three-dimensional textures and prints.

A wide range of velvet and satin pajamas and dresses is combined with coats in mohair, suede, cashmere and shearling. Lace, silk and velvet applications are juxtaposed in a sophisticated lineup that displays the maison’s craftsmanship.

The lineup includes also menswear garments, with animalier prints and tailored Harlequin-checkered blazers and trousers.
